This Los Angeles County Sheriff’s station serves the City of Santa Clarita and nearby unincorporated areas. That is about 290,000 residents in all. The city says the current 46,000-square-foot station on Golden Valley Road opened in 2021.

The CHP says the Newhall Area patrols 204 miles of freeway and 296 miles of unincorporated roads, across an area of 772 square miles. Its territory includes the interchange of Interstate 5 and State Route 14. The CHP says this interchange carries more than 350,000 vehicles a day.
The CHP also says the Area works to find and remove impaired drivers. It hosts Every 15 Minutes, a program for high school juniors and seniors about the dangers of drinking and driving.

It belongs to the court’s North Valley District, together with the San Fernando and Chatsworth courthouses.
- The court’s directory lists two case types here: criminal and traffic.
- Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except court holidays.
- The Criminal Clerk’s Office uses the main number, (661) 253-5600. Its phone hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Parking: the courthouse lot, entered from Valencia Boulevard.
- Every visitor goes through security screening. Weapons, recording devices, and cameras are not allowed without prior authorization.
- The District Attorney’s Santa Clarita Area Office is in the same building, Room 1.
- The court lists interpreter services in more than 90 languages.

The CHP says its Newhall Area uses four Superior Court locations. Besides the Santa Clarita Courthouse, they are:

The CHP does not say which roads go to which court. Your citation names the court for your case.
Your license
DMV Driver Safety
The license case is not handled at the courthouse. A DMV Driver Safety hearing officer decides it.
To get a hearing before the suspension takes effect, ask within 10 days of receiving the DMV notice. The notice is usually given at the arrest. The DMV lists a Driver Safety phone number, (833) 543-7703, and an online Driver Safety portal. Hearings may be held remotely or in person.

The DUI charge was dismissed and the client pleaded to a lesser charge often called a “wet reckless.” A wet reckless is a reckless driving conviction entered with a statement that alcohol or drugs were involved (Vehicle Code 23103.5). It still counts as a prior if there is a new DUI within 10 years.
